Damon Voss, Director

Damon’s professional background includes extensive experience in private practice & elite athlete management. Damon’s advanced level of training has lead him to work for high profile clinics in Australia and since arriving in the UK for the prestigious Harley Street Physiotherapy, the English Institute of Sport, Premier League Football, UK Athletics, Australian Athletics, Australian Triathlon, British Weight Lifting, British Men’s Basketball and England Cricket.

The aim of My Sports Clinic is to provide the level of physiotherapy service available to world class athletes to people of all ages & abilities. Damon calls this unique patient care experience the ‘My Sports Way’.

Damon graduated from the University of Queensland, Brisbane, in 1997 with 1st Class Honours. He spent the first two years of his career working within the hospital system within a diverse range of medical specialisations including, orthopaedics, outpatients, intensive care, coronary care, brain injury rehabilitation, respiratory rehabilitation, geriatric and neurological rehabilitation.

In 2001 Damon joined the Active Rehabilitation Team in Australia and provided musculoskeletal physiotherapy along with sports coverage for local to national level teams in soccer, rugby league and netball.  In 2004 Damon worked for the prestigious Harley Street Physiotherapy in London, before accepting a position with the Premier League Football club, Sunderland AFC in 2005. Damon launched his successful private practice, My Sports Physiotherapy Clinic in 2006. Damon was recruited by the English Institute of Sport to work with Olympic athletes in the North East of England and provided elite sports physiotherapy services to many Great Britain and English athletes in athletics, basketball, Olympic weight lifting, rowing, squash, badminton, tennis, sailing, triathlon, and swimming. Damon was called upon to look after elite Aussie athletes in athletics and triathlons during his time in the UK. 

Damon is currently flying the flag for My Sports Clinic in Australia where he has set up a sister business, My Vitality Physiotherapy which currently has two successful clinics running in the Queensland area.  Damon is very proud of the success of My Sports Clinic and continues to play a role in the direction of the company.  Damon has recruited top quality staff to provide the level of service people have come to expect.

Ainsley Kershaw, Senior Physiotherapist

Ainsley gained a BSc Hons degree in Physiotherapy at Northumbria University in 2008 and continued to study Sports Injury and Exercise Rehabilitation at St Mary's College London for a further two years gaining, with merit, a masters degree (MSc). He joined the My Sports team in late 2011 initially learning and shadowing for many hours under the mentoring of Damon Voss, and has since become a respected senior member of the My Sports physiotherapy team. Ainsley has a keen interest in Spinal injuries and all sports injuries including Tendon disorders in which he wrote his thesis on.

From 2010-2013 Ainsley enjoyed the role of physiotherapist for the Northumbria womens football 1st team travelling to home and away matches. He is currently working as a tournament physiotherapist for the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) covering elite international tennis events across the country treating many high profile tennis players including British Davis cup player Dan Evans, Marcus Willis, current top 100 WTA player Pauline Parmentier (FRA) and former Wimbledon semi finalist and world number 18 Alexandra Stevenson.

Participating in sport has always been Ainsley's main interest especially football, cricket, athletics and tennis. He played for Sunderland boys football team, represented the county in athletics and, as a junior tennis player, represented Great Britain at home and abroad successfully winning a number of international tennis tournaments. A potential career as a professional tennis player ended due to chronic knee injury however he still plays regularly and is a highly respected level four performance tennis coach.

Aimee Carr, Senior Physiotherapist

Aimee qualified with a Masters in Physiotherapy following a sports science degrees from Teeside university in 2010.

She has vast experience in private practice, sports, and military physiotherapy. During COVID lockdown Aimee moved on to work as a First contact physiotherapist in GP surgeries helping support MSK conditions and referral process.

With this and undertaking a post graduate masters in Advanced Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherpay training. Aimee currently works as an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner and injection therapist within the NHS.

Aimee is MACP qualified and recognised as an MACP practitioner. The Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP) is a membership organisation of physiotherapists who have reached a recognised standard of excellence in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Their knowledge and practical skills ensures that all MACP Physiotherapists provides an excellent standard of care in examination, treatment and management for people with musculoskeletal problems.
