My Sports Clinic Covid-19 Policy
Following updated guidance from the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy we are pleased to announce that we are able to offer ‘face to face’ consultations, where clinically appropriate and necessary.
Please take the time to read this policy to ensure you are ready for your visit as you will be required to sign a consent form on your arrival to the clinic.
The health, safety and wellbeing of our patients and staff are paramount. We have always maintained a very high standard of health, safety and hygiene at My Sports Clinic and we are reopening the clinic with robust procedures and risk assessments to ensure patients and staff can return with absolute confidence.
Any patients requesting a ‘face to face’ consultation will first receive a telephone assessment from one of our Physiotherapists to assess clinical need and screen for any additional risk factors.
We are complying with the NHS track and trace service.Symptoms If you develop Covid-19 symptoms prior to your appointment please reschedule your appointment for two weeks after symptoms start.
If you become unwell with Covid-19 after your appointment please inform the clinic urgently so we can put correct measures in place.Bookings and consultations Bookings ideally must be made over the phone or by email.
Front desk will provisionally book your appointment day and time. You will then receive a phone call prior to your appointment from your treating physiotherapist to complete a triage telephone assessment.
You will be required to sign a consent form in line with your telephone booking assessment/screening when entering the clinic.
If a parent/carer is accompanying you to your appointment, they must also complete a telephone screening and provide their name and telephone number for track and trace. Also temperature checks on arrival to the clinic.
Suitable clothing - We are no longer able to supply patients with shorts. Please keep in mind the necessary clothing required for the physiotherapist to access your injury area. For example if you have a knee injury, we would advise you to wear shorts to your appointment and for a neck/shoulder injury a vest top would be advised.Appointments When you arrive to David Lloyd Leisure please use the designated hand sanitising station before entering the premises. We then have a second hand sanitising station as you enter the clinic. When you arrive you will be asked to have your temperature taken. Please don’t be offended as this is to ensure the safety of everyone. If your temperature is showing a high reading unfortunately your appointment will be cancelled, however no charge will be made. We are operating a 1 in 1 out staggered appointment system for each physiotherapist and must adhere to a strict time table. Please do not arrive early or late, this will ensure we can keep to low numbers in the reception area and allow adequate time to clean the treatment room in-between each patient. If you are here for your initial appointment please arrive 5 minutes early to complete paperwork. If you arrive late to your appointment we will not be able to extend the appointment time and you will lose part of the session. We currently do not have a waiting area available. If you do arrive early please do not be offended if we ask you to wait outside the club or in your car. Please bring minimal personal belongings with you. We will not be able to take your coat so please leave your coat in the car where possible. Personal belongings e.g. keys, phone, wallet, must be kept in your pocket at all times whilst in the treatment room. You must come alone to your treatment unless under 16 or with a carer. We have put in place correct PPE measures for our staff members to ensure everyone’s safety. You will be required to wear a face mask to your appointment if you do not bring your own face mask we will provide you one at the cost of 50p. If any treatment takes place where your head is face down in the bed, your treating physiotherapist may suggest you can remove the face mask whilst the treatment Is being performed. But a mask must be worn in all areas of the clinic until your treating physiotherapist advises. General chat will need to be kept to a minimum due to government guidelines. Please do not be offended as this is in place for the safety for both yourself and the physiotherapist. Please avoid touching any stock or displays whilst you are in the clinic. If you want to try anything please ask a member of our team. You cannot bring any food or drinks onto the premises. Food and drink is served at the café/bar if required. Cleaning procedures After every patient each treatment room will be thoroughly cleaned before the next client- we are allowing a 10-15 minute gap between each client in order to ensure efficient cleaning. There will be 3 hand sanitising stations- one upon entering David Lloyd Club, one at My Sports Clinic reception and one at the treatment room sink area. The reception area will be cleaned thoroughly and regularly. Payments Prices have increased from 01/09/20 due to Covid-19. We will be taking card and cash payments- if you wish to pay by cash we will require the correct amount. Treatments We are currently only offering 30 minute physiotherapy and sports massage sessions only at this time. Opening hours Due to a phased return our opening hours will vary and may differ from our website.
